The Cal Arts Residency concluded on Friday March 16th with a public sharing during the All-School Meeting. Billy Mark, Nicole Marquis, Ema Bell, Ishani Radha Das, Emily Mendelsohn, Vicki Grise, Aly Mawji, David Mack and Deborah Asiimwe joined Daniel Alexander Jones for the telling and some tea.

The only way I can describe Daniel Alexander Jones is translucent. When he is in rehearsal or performance his reality becomes your reality. He took crinkled paper, a black box, and a tea set and made physical art that was undeniable. I was honored to be apart of the process and will be first in line to see the completion of The Book of Daniel.
The Book of Daniel validates stories not often told and teaches us to examine the importance of our lived experience. I felt challenged to look at my art as my life practice and blessed to be in the room with such beautiful people. Daniel is without doubt a brilliant gift to this world.
